Carissa Johnson – Manager of Spencer Travel Southside

Travelling with children can be stressful, especially when they are young. For the past few years I have been trialling what works best for my family with 2 boys under 5. Once the kids come along, it really makes for a different holiday. Working with a Family Holiday Specialist is imperative to get the most out of your holiday, with great recommendations and travel tips you may not have considered.

My favourite family holiday was to Hawaii and in particular, the Four Seasons Hualalai. This resort on the Big Island is outstanding, with 5 pools – including a toddler pool and one of which has fish, great for learning to snorkel! The highlight for my son was the sea turtles that make their way on the hotel beach for a rest every night. The resort has its own golf course, a fabulous spa and great dining options. This makes for a truly outstanding family holiday.

Merilyn Heslop – Travel Specialist Spencer Travel Southside

Exploring the differences between countries around the world has been my passion even in primary school, when I was fascinated by maps, flags, different languages, cultures & history.

Skiing has always been my families favourite holiday. We have been to resorts around the world and there is something for everyone – amazing scenery, a challenging sport, camaraderie on the slopes & the coziness of après-ski. Val d’Isere, Zermatt, Aspen & Whistler have all been favourites. For a warmer, relaxing vacation Hawaii, Tahiti & Mauritius have come out tops.

Club Med – Val D’Isere in the French Alps is Merilyn’s favourite family hotel

Jess Minto – Travel Specialist Spencer Travel Southside

Jess’ favourite destination for multigenerational holidays is Fiji. She has travelled quite extensively throughout the South Pacific and is drawn to the warmth and friendliness of the Fijian people. Having travelled to Fiji on a trip with her husband, niece and extended family it was the perfect destination that catered for everyone’s individual needs, whilst allowing everyone to spend quality time together in the sun. The short flight times, friendly locals and amazing resorts make Fiji an excellent family choice.

Jess’s favourite family hotel’s in Fiji are Vomo and Castaway

Giselle Pennington – Travel Specialist Spencer Travel Southside

Entered the industry over 20 years ago and travelled extensively pre children (from Mauritius to  Vietnam, and the world s biggest cruise ship at the time – Oasis of the Seas to name a few holidays ) and now with a 7 year old in tow looking forward to exploring new counties and cities with my him and my extended family. Some of our to do destinations for us  Disney World Florida ,New York and , Africa – exploring the world with your kids really opens your eyes to things you don’t even notice or would normally try.

One of the nicest holidays close to home was a fantastic holiday with my brother and his family to Airlie Beach and Hayman Island – the kids were in heaven were the parents of course!!

Favourite family hotel – Club Med Mauritius – My son never wants to leave the kids club and it’s a real haven also for parents as you can relax, have a spa/massage  or part take in any of the many activities or classes that are always happening  around the club
